GoTV Kenya Launches A New Bouquet

MultiChoice Kenya and KBC (Kenyan Broadcasting Corporation) in December officially unveiled the newly-upgraded transmitter, culminating in increased bouquet offering and enhanced digital signal quality.

The transmitter, based in Limuru, boasts of increased transmitter power of 6 Kilowatts (KW), up from 2KW with a mast height of 120 metres.

The upgrade will see the antennae gain boost its signal reach to Naivasha, Gilgil, parts of Kajiado and Embu.

“The upgrade of the Limuru transmitter firmly placesGOtv in a pivotal role incontributing tohelping the country to achieve its set target in the migration from analogue to digital TV transmission,” said GOtv General Manager, Felix Kyengo.

At the same time, Mr Kyengo announced the launch of a new GOtv bouquet,GOtv Plus, due to increased transmission capacity with the new GOtv channels being carefully selected to cater for a variety of different tastes and family viewing needs at a very affordable price.

Mobile- which allows subscribers access to selected GOtv channels on their mobile devices.
Among the new channels available to subscribers on the GOtv Plusbouquet include SuperSport Blitz, Nat Geo Wild, MTV Base, and Islam Channel. Subscribers can also to look forward to the introduction of the an exciting all-purpose martial arts channel – BlackBelt TV – which will be introduced on the GOtv Plus bouquet by the end of this week.
In addition sports lovers are in for treat as GOtv will be screening all 32 games of the 2013 Orange Africa Cup of Nations live. On the GOtv bouquet, SuperSport Select will broadcast 28 games, including the pre-match studio build-up and post-match wrap, while the remaining 4 games (at the end of the group stage where games kick off simultaneously on January 27-30) will be catered for on SuperSport Blitz which is available on the GOtv Plus bouquet.
“GOtv is the home of African television. We firmly believe that there is enough rich content created here on the continent to make a case for packaging great African entertainment and since inception, we have committed ourselves to making this a reality thus, offering channels made in Africa for Africa,” said Kyengo.

GOtv provides television lovers with a digital quality picture, sound and an exciting range of local and international channels. Subscribers have access to an exciting mix of channels containing news, children’s programming, documentaries, series and movies.
“Nairobi residents and their environs are now set to benefit from better access to an increased number of channels, with enhanced picture and sound quality synonymous with digital television at a price they can afford,” said Kyengo.

Launched in September 2011, GOtv is a product of innovation from MultiChoice and KBC, to make available an affordable digital television product to all Kenyans.
